014: Lose Your Chaperone
Tonight was more fun than one might have predicted. Rebecca, myself, and several other adults of family and friendship served as chaperones and caretakers for a large party of teenagers. This was the celebration for Isabelle's bat mitzvah, and it was a blast. It was a strange combination of stacks of pizza boxes, a DJ (who played the hits but refused to engage with his audience), and a bouncy-castle. It was pretty much whatever's fun. And rather than being a bunch of hawk-eyed wallflowers, the adults fell prey to adolescent energy and danced, gorged on pizza, and even got some time in the bouncy-castle.
I was freakin' exhausted. It was hard for me to believe there was ever a time I could've done that for four straight hours.
